Writer. Theatremaker. Coach. Consultant.

[ CREATIVE SERVICES]

Creative Services

I am passionate about working on making creative productions accessible in their storytelling, and about working with disabled artists across the sector. I am an experienced writer (I WANT TO LIVE, 2022; Quality of Life is Not a Measurable Outcome), poet (Jerwood Fellow 2021-22) and director (Transpose, Barbican Centre; The Acts, Bristol Old Vic; The Acts, Barbican Centre), with a focus on embedding creative access in creative work.

I also work as a creative mentor and creative coach with disabled people trying to work out how to manage their access needs in an inaccessible sector.

[ What I offer ]

Writing

Commissioned writing (poetry, essay, and theatre) and script or text development for theatre and beyond. Previous work published in Rialto, Magma, across the mainstream press, and performed at Glastonbury, Barbican Centre, Lyric Hammersmith, Home Manchester and more.

Directing and Dramaturgy

Directing, Assistant Directing and Dramaturgy to hold a vision and shape a production. Working across the creative team in a collaborative and exciting way to make daring decisions and bold work.

Creative Access

Access consultancy embedded in a production, exploring both rehearsal room practice and performer needs; and audience needs with relaxed and captioned performances, BSL and audio-description, and access-led creative decisions.

Creative Coaching and Mentoring

Working with disabled creatives to either support the development of a specific project, or their individual creative development, working to identify sustainable ways of creative working when access barriers and impairments limit this.

Creative Workshops

Delivering creative workshops online or offline, either bespoke to the organisation or off the shelf. These workshops are designed to increase community and connection amongst participants, taking a lived experience approach to using creativity to improve mental health.

Performance

As an actor, I am confident taking on disabled (mobility-impaired) roles authentically. I have performed as an actor at Theatre Royal Stratford East, the Barbican Centre, Watford Palace Theatre, Lyric Hammersmith, HOME Manchester and more venues.
